How much is that Doggy in the Window?

I have a memory as a child my year One class performed the song "How much is that Doggy in the window" to the rest of the school at "Whole School Assembly." What I do recall was having a prosthetic dog tail made from one leg of ladies stockings,  filled with scrunched up paper and attached to my bum with a safety pin. I seem to remember feeling fraudulent as I sang the song, as I am a lifelong Cat lover. I like dogs but don't fancy one in my life....or so I thought.
This week we have had the fortune of minding a little guy and he's challenged my resolve somewhat!
He is a little ray of sunshine and has provided lots of laughs and cuddles. Pierre and The Baby have been surprisingly tolerant of our house guest who is going home today.
What a revelation to us all, thanks little guy for bringing a different brand of happiness to our home.

Sunny Sunday

This picture makes me smile!
Today is such a sunny autumn day here, quite possibly a little cool for this outfit... well except for the brolly!
Happy sunny Sunday!

If I had a Hammer.......

 If I had a hammer,
I'd hammer in the morning
I'd hammer in the evening,
All over this land
I'd hammer out danger,
I'd hammer out a warning,
I'd hammer out love between my brothers and my sisters,
All over this land.

Ahhh The sweet folkie lyrics of Peter, Paul and Mary. I do have a hammer, and a saw and a ladder and they are helping me get some cracking work done on Clementine the Caravan. The lovely M has been so helpful and provides comic relief! Yep there's Cider too, it helps with perspective in the late afternoon..now where's that Hammer....

Sheeesh, I'm waiting for that something beautiful!!!

Oooh I wish I had some excellent news or a fabulous story to tell but I've got nothin' Things at ours have been simply crapola. Some things become clear during such times, there are those who are distinctly absent and that my friends, work mates and the beautiful M have provided some amazing support.
This has got to get better, improve, we'll see the light at the end of the tunnel, our luck will change and all those other useless sayings folks offer when things are....shit! I know it will but  for now though Julia Stone can offer some relief for a few minutes!!!!
