I can Knit!!!!

All of my prior attempts at knitting have been well....not so great. Inspired by a free pattern from the net I found for the most delightful tiny red knitted baby shoes, I gave it my best shot. Over two nights tucked up under a nanna rug on the couch I persevered, stitch by stitch, tounge out at times and finally.....One gorgeous pair of tiny red baby shoes were born. I gifted them to a brand new little girl named Ruby, which is fitting.........Ruby Red Shoes!!!!

So......I can knit!

Random Acts of Baking on Manic Monday.......

Monday evenings are completely manic at ours. The children return to the nest with homework in hand, permission notes that need signing, phones that need to be charged, missing ipods and a crazy cat. Monday presents the challenge of a new week, new deadlines to meet at uni, dates to pencil in, the list goes on.....this Monday I threw myself into finding the Monday groove, and filled one of my own needs by making yummy gingerbread. I traditionally think of gingerbread as a Xmas treat. Recently inspired by a thoughtful gift of Tasmanian gingerbread that was transported lovingly home by the gorgeous Julia, I decided to make some. So warming.... enjoyed with a cup of earl grey under a nanna rug on the couch.

This year is about to become a very big one for myself, my family and friends. I have accepted a first round university offer to study nursing! I logged in to the VTAC website Tuesday am to check my offer status and became so overwhelmed when I read that La Trobe Uni had made me an offer, I couldn't believe it and logged back out immediately! Elation, fear and excitement filled my whole body and I started to cry!!! The children thought something was wrong and came to rescue me. We shared the moment with a group hug a jump up and down on the spot, then a debriefing."Mum does this mean you're going to hog the computer even more?" Yes sweet afraid so!!! The tertiary journey has begun for all of us xxx
Of course there was a celebratory glass of champagne later that evening!

A Blog is Born!

This blog is the beginning of my blogging life. I love reading other peoples blogs, admiring their photos, laughing at the moments shared in the lives of bloggers. I have thought for some time of writing about everyday life stuff, recording all those little moments some too precious not to share.........
